1 There was one of the Pharisees called Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews,
John 19:39  John 3:10  John 7:47-50  Luke 23:13

2 who came to Jesus by night and said, 'Rabbi, we know that you have come from God as a teacher; for no one could perform the signs that you do unless God were with him.'
Acts 2:22  Acts 10:38  John 5:36  John 9:16  Acts 4:16-17  John 9:30-33  John 11:47-48

3 Jesus answered: In all truth I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.
2Cor 5:17  John 3:5-6  1John 3:9  1Pet 1:23-25  John 1:13  1John 5:1  1John 2:29

4 Nicodemus said, 'How can anyone who is already old be born? Is it possible to go back into the womb again and be born?'
1Cor 2:14  1Cor 1:18  John 4:11-12  John 3:3  John 6:53  John 6:60

5 Jesus replied: In all truth I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born through water and the Spirit;
Ezek 36:25-27  Acts 2:38  1Cor 6:11  Eph 5:26  1John 5:6-8  1Pet 3:21  John 3:3

6 what is born of human nature is human; what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Gal 5:16-21  Rom 8:4-9  Ezek 36:26-27  1Cor 6:17  2Cor 5:17  Job 14:4  Job 25:4

7 Do not be surprised when I say: You must be born from above.
John 3:3  Eph 4:22-24  1Pet 1:22  John 5:28  Matt 13:33-35  Rev 21:27  Rom 12:1-2

8 The wind blows where it pleases; you can hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.
1Cor 2:11  Eccl 11:4-5  Acts 2:2  Ezek 37:9  Mark 4:26-29  Acts 4:31  Job 37:16-17

9 'How is that possible?' asked Nicodemus.
John 6:52  John 6:60  Luke 1:34  Isa 42:16  John 3:4  Mark 8:24-25  Prov 4:18

10 Jesus replied, 'You are the Teacher of Israel, and you do not know these things!
Ezek 11:19  Ezek 18:31-32  Ezek 36:25-27  Ezek 37:23-24  Isa 9:16  Jer 8:8-9  Jer 31:33

11 'In all truth I tell you, we speak only about what we know and witness only to what we have seen and yet you people reject our evidence.
John 1:18  John 7:16  John 8:38  John 12:49  1John 5:6-12  2Cor 4:4  Isa 50:2

12 If you do not believe me when I speak to you about earthly things, how will you believe me when I speak to you about heavenly things?
1Cor 2:7-9  1Cor 3:1-2  1Pet 2:1-3  Heb 5:11  1John 4:10  1Tim 3:16  John 1:1-14

13 No one has gone up to heaven except the one who came down from heaven, the Son of man;
Prov 30:4  John 6:38  Acts 2:34  John 1:18  Eph 4:9-10  John 13:3  Rom 10:6

14 as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so must the Son of man be lifted up
Num 21:7-9  John 8:28  John 12:32-34  Ps 22:16  2Kgs 18:4  Acts 2:23  Luke 18:31-33

15 so that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.
John 3:16  John 3:36  1John 5:11-13  John 6:40  1John 5:1  Heb 7:25  John 10:28-30

16 For this is how God loved the world: he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
Rom 5:8  1John 4:9-10  John 3:15  John 11:25-26  Rom 8:32  John 6:40  John 3:36

17 For God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but so that through him the world might be saved.
1John 4:14  John 6:57  Luke 19:10  John 12:47-48  1Tim 2:5-6  John 6:29  John 20:21

18 No one who believes in him will be judged; but whoever does not believe is judged already, because that person does not believe in the Name of God's only Son.
Mark 16:16  1John 5:10  John 5:24  Rom 8:1  1John 5:12  Heb 12:25  Rom 5:1

19 And the judgement is this: though the light has come into the world people have preferred darkness to the light because their deeds were evil.
John 8:12  John 9:39-41  2Thess 2:12  John 1:4  2Pet 3:3  Acts 24:21-26  John 1:9-11

20 And indeed, everybody who does wrong hates the light and avoids it, to prevent his actions from being shown up;
Eph 5:11-13  John 7:7  Prov 1:29  Jas 1:23-25  Job 24:13-17  Prov 4:18  Amos 5:10-11

21 but whoever does the truth comes out into the light, so that what he is doing may plainly appear as done in God.'
1John 1:6  Ps 139:23-24  John 5:39  1John 4:15-16  2Pet 1:5-10  3John 1:11  Gal 6:8

22 After this, Jesus went with his disciples into the Judaean countryside and stayed with them there and baptised.

23 John also was baptising at Aenon near Salim, where there was plenty of water, and people were going there and were being baptised.
1Sam 9:4  Ezek 19:10  Ezek 43:2  Gen 33:18  Jer 51:13  Luke 3:7  Mark 1:4-5

24 For John had not yet been put in prison.
Matt 4:12  Matt 14:3  Mark 6:17  Luke 3:19-20  Luke 9:7-9

25 Now a discussion arose between some of John's disciples and a Jew about purification,
John 2:6  Heb 6:2  Heb 9:13-14  1Pet 3:21  Heb 9:10  Heb 9:23  Mark 7:2-5

John 1:7  Isa 45:23  Jas 3:14-18  John 12:19  1Cor 3:3-5  Acts 19:26-27  Eccl 4:4

Col 1:18  Dan 2:34-35  Heb 3:2-6  Isa 9:7  Ps 72:17-19  1Cor 3:5  Rev 11:15

31 He who comes from above is above all others; he who is of the earth is earthly himself and speaks in an earthly way. He who comes from heaven
John 8:23  Matt 28:18  1John 4:5  John 6:33  Rom 9:5  Eph 1:20-21  John 1:27

32 bears witness to the things he has seen and heard, but his testimony is not accepted by anybody;
John 3:11  John 1:11  John 15:15  John 8:26  Isa 50:2  Isa 53:1  John 3:26

33 though anyone who does accept his testimony is attesting that God is true,
Eph 1:13  Heb 6:17  Titus 1:1-2  2Cor 1:18  2Cor 1:22  John 6:27  Rom 3:3-4

34 since he whom God has sent speaks God's own words, for God gives him the Spirit without reserve.
